Contractor Problems in Oklahoma: Complaints and Your Options

Short answerIf a contractor job goes wrong in Oklahoma, here is what we could confirm on official pages: where to file a complaint, bond or insurance, contract and cancellation rules. Each item links to its source. Keep your contract, payments and photos.

Where to file a complaint

A Roofing Contractor Complaint Form can be mailed to the board or emailed to roofingcomplaints@cib.ok.gov. The board enforces registration and endorsement rules, not workmanship, financial, insurance or unfinished-work disputes. For those, it says the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit or an attorney may help. Source

Bond or insurance

For residential roofing, the board requires general liability coverage of not less than $500,000. The page does not mention a bond requirement, and covers roofing only. Source

Contract and cancellation rules

The board advises always obtaining a written contract before you allow work to begin on your property, covering the start date, scope of work and completion date. Source
